Pay-Per-Click

Pay-Per-Click (PPC) is a type of sponsored advertising, where every time someone clicks on your ad, you have to pay. The cost that you pay usually falls between $0.08-$15.00+ and is determined on how competitive the keywords you are advertising are.

For example, you are selling red balloons and want to advertise your site on Google ( on the "sponsored links" section on the right-hand side of the search results). There are many other people paying to have their ad placed in the sponsored links section who are also selling balloons. Therefore, the keyword "balloons" is quite competitive. Thus the cost you will pay-per-click, and to even have your ad show up for that matter, will be higher. However, if you want to focus your ad campaign specifically towards red balloons and use "red balloons" as your keyword and there is a very small number (0-8) of competitors for red balloons, then the cost that you will pay-per-click on the sponsored links section of Google's search results will be much lower.
